GETTING TO PHILADELPHIA
By Plane:
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL): This is the most convenient airport for getting directly into Philadelphia. It has good connections to many domestic and international destinations.
Other Nearby Airports: If flights to PHL are too expensive or inconvenient, you could also consider flying into:
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey ** Best Option
NYC Stopover Option: If you have some extra time and want to experience New York City, flying into one of the NYC airports (LGA, JFK, or EWR) could be a fun option. You could spend a night or two exploring NYC before or after taking a relatively short train or bus ride to/from Philadelphia.
Connecting to Philadelphia from NYC Airports: From any of the NYC area airports, you can get to Philadelphia. Newark is the most convenient option of the NYC airports.
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in New Jersey ** Best Option if not spending time in NYC
Amtrak offers direct train service from Newark Airport Terminal to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station. It takes about 1 hr on the Amtrak to get to Philly.
LaGuardia Airport (LGA) in New York City
There is no train directly to LGA. You will need to Uber to NYC's Moynihan Train Hall to catch an Amtrak to Philly. It takes about 50 min to get from LGA to Moynihan, and another 1 hr 20 min to get from Moynihan to Philly.
John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City
You can take the E train or LIRR to 34th St/ Penn Station and follow signs for Moynihan Train Hall to catch an Amtrak to Philly. It takes about 1 hr to get from JFK to Moynihan, and another 1 hr 20 min to get from Moynihan to Philly.
Bus: Several bus companies (like BoltBus, FlixBus, and Greyhound) offer routes from NYC to Philadelphia. If you don't book your train ticket in advance, prices will go up, however the bus options remain around $20 and run every 30 minutes or more.

GETTING AROUND PHILADELPHIA
Philadelphia is a very walkable city & beautiful in the fall. We encourage you to walk between neighborhoods if you're able. Buses are very convenient as an alternative. Ubers and Lyfts are affordable and the distances are short.
